1200 shockers for an 1100

I`ve just got a really decent set of shockers from a 1200 GS-A. Does anyone have any idea if I can fit them to a 1996 1100GS?

I`m thinking the front may be OK but not the rear although I am armed with a hammer and gas axe!!
