1200 sport fork oil

Hi all -

The spec for the fork oil in my 1200, according to the original Guzzi Service Station Manual is as follows -




I'm not sure I've ever seen 7.5W. there is quite a difference between 5W and 20W - is this just down to personal preference and riding style?

Please, does anyone have experience of this and can make a recommendation?

Edit - now found some 7.5W so I'll go with that unless anyone has any real world wisdom to add.

No personal experience, but I have come across folks who mixed oils of different weights and calculated the result by simple ratio. Not sure how scientific this is, it's logical if you are mixing 'apples with apples'. I did talk to someone years ago who worked for an oil company and was left with the overwhelming impression that it's a complicated business and simple assumptions don't often work in the way you'd think. Glad you found the 7.5W..... didn't know that was a product either.
