1200GS alarm problem

Hi all

first time poster

I am having some problems with the alarm on my 07 1200 gs the alarm itself work ie sounds when bike is moved then once turned off it re sets itself, the problem that i have experienced is turning off the motion sensor when traveling on the train/tunnel crossing to France.

Apologies to the fellow passengers as the alarm kept going off and no matter how i used the keypad i could not turn the alarm off.

Has anyone else had this problem?

how easy is it to disconnect the alarm?, I don't really need it as the bike is garaged at home and in safe garage or compound when used abroad.

Hi,
I had the same issue and in the end switched the alarm off completely so it doesnt sound at all. instructions are in the alarm book.

As said above, I turned mine off from automatically setting cos I pissed me doing what you're explaining .
Now I just set it myself when I need it armed.
IIRC you can disarm it by pressing the arm button twice and it turns off the motion sensor..
Something like that anyway.
Could check the manual when I get home but I'm sure someone will correct me before then

Its pretty straightforward. Once you get on the train leave the ignituion on until you are ready. Then, switch off and set the alarm by using the alarm fob - don't wait for the automatic selection. Once set and beeped, simply press the other button on the fob which will deselect the motion sensor. It is covered in detail in the handbook - I only read it having endured the same problem on the train.
