If there's one thing that doesn't inspire confidence for me on the 1200 GS it has to be the battery which seems marginal to say the least. So much so, that I'm never sure whether I should enabe the bike alarm. Clearly an alarm shouldn't be a drain on a battery, but how do other folk feel about the battery capacity on this bike?
Could have done with being slightly larger despite weight and design implications I guess.
Thoughts?

The man told me it would stay armed for 3 daze & then switch off to save the battery........... :nenau

I left my old 04 Bike for 6 weeks with the alarm armed, and all was OK when I returned, but I didn't check to see if the alarm was still armed or not :nenau

Shep :bounce1

Hi,

I think part of the alarm goes to sleep after 7 days, maybe the remote control, so it needs to be disabled by the key -this is to save power. The alarm stays on.

Am I right?

All bike alarms drain the battery to some extent, I haven't noticed the BMW one being any worse than, say, a DataTool. Best thing to do is get an Optimate, I reckon.
