I came off yesterday for the first time too at about 40. I was totally taken by surprise by it, but other than the slam into the kerb it was a gentle slide.

Fortunately the DRZ comes with FTR* technology, meaning it cost sod all to repair and there was no lasting damage.

Ride safe.

Came off my 1200GSA couple of weeks ago doing around 45 to 50 on a bend. Diesel on the front tyre. Bike went over on the bars and pannier then spun round and almost stood itself up again against a soft grass bank. But the amount of damage was substantial. Insurance job costing £4,000 to fix!! New frame, main stand, exhaust, screen, pannier plus rails, crash bars, etc etc. I did think these things were pretty tough but not any more. If your bike's been over at all, check the rear frame where the passenger foot peg hangers join the main tube. Thought the alloy pannier hitting the ground first might have prevented that but apparently not.

Thanks

Thanks to all for the good wishes. As promised some pics ...
