Not painted, powder coated I believe............those seats still look like they belong in a tarts boudoir though

Fair enough, but I bet it will still come off, though it may take a few goes of mounting/removing luggage to do it.

I asked one of the blokes on the BMW stand at the show about that, and he said that if the BMW luggage removed the paint/ powdercoat, BMW will replace the frames under warranty. He managed to keep a straight face as he said it, even though I was laughing!

That's why it costs more!
