1200gs power socket

The standard BMW accessory socket trips out the CANBUS when I plug a compressor in.

Is there a way of adding a socket that's not wired through the canbus?

You may need more than a 5 amp fuse though

I have two powerlet sockets connected directly to my battery for that purpose - one below the seat for my intercom and one upfront for my GPS and trickle charger. Both easy to install and only cost a few dollars www.powerletproducts.com . An american company - very good with mail orders (I live in NZ). Both bypass the Canbus and have inbuilt 10A fuses.
