I am thinking of an Airflow Screen, but have been told an Adventure one will fit straight on the standard GS.

Has anyone tried both, at over 6'1 I find a fair amount of wind noise, if I hunch down with seat on lower setting it is much better, so assume I need a taller screen.

Also do they fit with Winglets as my bike has those, and I assume they are worth keeping :nenau

I'd get the adventure screen and then add a touratech screen extender.

Works a dream for me, but I'm only 5'11"

i swapped the standard screen for adventure plus nn winglets. buffeting gone but still more wind noise than i would like. Think i will try tobinators next and then throw in the the towel and go for the givi which from the very big thread seems to be widely successful. given the cost of the adventure screen and the extra frame you need as well the givi screen seems like a more economical option with more chance of immediate success - only problem it is uglier than the adventure screen. I am 5foot10 with seat on low.

I found the Airflow Screen thread, sounds ideal from a functionality point of view, but it ain't pretty.

I (wrongly) assumed an Adventure Screen would be a direct swap and possibly cheaper, or with used items available at fair money.

Any other decent alternatives out there, or is Givi the best?

You could have a look at Wunderlich or CeeBailey who both do quality alternatives at appprox 1/2 the price of the GSA screen. Nippy Normans also worth a look.

where is the best place to get tinted GSA screen?
and how much?

anyone know if dark tinted screen extenders are available would like to try this but clear extender on tinted screen will make it look like even more of a dogs breakfast !

I've used my Givi immediately before/after a GSA test ride.

The Givi is marginally better as the GSA screen could do with being an inch or two taller (duck down slightly and all goes much quieter). The GSA screen looks much nicer though and it's OE BMW parts, so looks like it belongs on the bike.

Difficult choice, but I'd probably go with the GSA screen if I could afford the extra £100 or so.

Has anyone tried one of these MRA screens?? for a 1200GS

The one with the small spoiler
Look good and reasonable price.

Ive used the flip MRA on a tiger and the split MRA on a GS. The split option gives more variation. As in all things these are a compromise that will be totally different for each person so unless you get advice from someome identical in shape and size you will still have to find out for yourself!

The adventure screen would also need several other bits to enable it to fit, this is not a "budget" option!

I use the Givi Airflow on mine....added winglets and wow what a difference...85-90 visor up little noise.....really impressed.

SCREENS

Givi screen not sure of the name but its the largest they do with a set of winglets works great for me :beerjug:

trial?

Do you want to have a go with my Ergo screen to see how you get on with it, I'm just down the road? I've got the Airflow actually on the bike at the mo too.

There are that many threads on here about screens that I did not really know where to put this but this one is probably the most appropriate.
I have just put a Givi Airflow screen on my 1200GS and I am very very impressed. The screen itself is very solidly constructed and is very sturdy. The ride is now much more relaxed without any real buffeting at all. I previously had an MRA Vario screen (similar two part screen but vary narrow at the bottom) and the Givi screen provides so much more protection not only for my head but also for my arms and body. I cannot really compare therefore with the standard screen as it is a long time since I have ridden behind one but I would recommend the Givi screen to anyone. I have only had a few rides with it on so far so may be able to find an even better position for the rake and height of the screen.
I previously came on here and asked for advice about the Adventure screen and was trying to find a second hand one when I happened on a recommendation for the Givi. At a little more than a third of the price of Adventure screen, support etc the Givi seems a very good buy.
