I have a factory lowered 1200gs 08reg,i have put conti road attack tyres on and it handles fantastic but the side stand grounds out.The bend half way up the side stand scrapes not the foot. The stand is wearing away and there is a flat spot on the bend.Do you think this is a warrenty claim?

I am guessing you regularly lean a long way as I also have a factory lowered '08 (on Battlewings) and although I have also ground the stand in the same place it has only happened a couple of times for me, not frequently. On each occasion I have been very aware that I was leant over a long way. :augie

Would be surprised if anyone would warranty damage relating to lean angle i.e. footpegs/hero blobs etc regularly touch down on a lot of bikes.

Just my 2p

No chance because it's not a component failure!!

Good heavens man, where are your pipe and slip:augiepers

Bet those R1 riders you've just flown past get a surprise when they see the sparks coming from the GS;)

Very funny:clap

I had a similar problem..

standard height but with pre-load at about half way the pegs would deck out all the time (I'm only 11 stone too before you conclude I have a pie problem). I wound the pre-load up to full and no problem now :)

Put in a warranty claim against your parents.... should have given you longer legs. :beerjug:

There is a little rubber bung, that stops the side stand clattering about when it's folded up. You can cut this down by half, and it will increase ground clearance by a little....

I've had the side stand deck out on the left, and the center stand deck out on the right. The bike is NOT lowered, although riding with the Mrs helps it to deck out. But then my ribs hurt :augie :augie
