1200GS Spot/Fog Lights

Extra lights

BMW dealer told me this week that they recently received a directive from head office that under no circumstances should extra lights be fitted to the 1200 gs. Dont shoot the messenger- is their motive genuine :nenau Thought I would just pass it on. It just made me think twice about a mod I would like to make.

:nono Patience is a virtue Ian, and far be it from me to pass comment, but if you would care to read on the forum somewhere I think you will read that Little Red Rooster suffered a heart attack last week. :(

Save you searching look here

One would concur from that, that the making of the loom could be delayed, unless of course they allow him to use a soldering iron and crimpling pliers on the ward.

Based on the above little nugget of information, one would suspect that your loom and anyone else's for that matter are the last thing on his mind right now.

Hell I didn't see that thread! Now I see why there isn't any answers.

Interesting, I swapped 1200gs old for new (mmmmm shinny lamp!!) and the dealer swapped lights from one to the other (Migsel light bar £11.00 Halfprd Spots (sale) and £12 wiring loom!!!) for me!

I'm very interested too.

I'm sure a little hobby making wiring looms is the perfect therapy for a recovering cardio patient......!

Don't rush the recovery......I can wait till the clocks go back!

All the very best for your recovery, hope the incident doesn't wreck your biking

Yeah - two lamps (Fogs) are triggered by the dip beam, t'other two (Spots or Driving lights) come on with main beam. This means that when you have main beam on, you have 6 x 55w lights at your disposal. Believe me, it's like having your own personal sun. The setup gives better lights than my car has.

Hi Rooster, I know your still in converlessence. Hope your doing well and taking it easy for now.

Hope this dosn't come across as pushy 'it's not meant'

I and probably many others 'though wishing you a speedy recovery' on this forum, were just wondering, have you abandoned this project now or is it just on the shelf for the time-being while you make a full recovery?

There seems to have been considerable interest in this lighting harness of yours, it would be ashame for it to end with no explanation.

Take it easy mister, all the best for a good recovery. Cheers Val.
