I have looked through previous postings for the one with the instructions and photos of the tank mod to assist filling to capacity, but cannot find it
Can anyone diect me to it, please?

Short Answer

Remove steel fuel tank filler sleeve
Drill a couple of 3mm or 4 mm or 5mm (find your sharpest drill) holes in right hand side near top, one at 0130h position, one at 0430h position
Refit steel sleeve
Tank will happily dribble in more fuel as air can vent from high side of tank

I think he means the "drilling holes in the original filler neck" mod

That's what's I thought as well!

Can I just add, if anyone's thinking of doing the mod that the 2nd post refers to - I'm currently reading Chris Scott's AMH & he says 'there are few places in the world where a fuel range of more than 300km is needed on a sealed highway & that translates to just 16.6 litres if riding at 51mpg.

That'll be a matter of opinion . . .

Depends on time of day I suppose. And where you want to go. And whether you are cruising at 51mpg or enjoying a more enthusiastic zap on empty roads. I reckon I'm more of a 45mpg rider these days, not that I measure it accurately any more. See a garage fill it up; especially when riding with my boy on his rice rocket that needs refilled every few yards.
