Slow drop in the carpark tonight and will replace my left hand side headguard as I'm a fussy bugger. Had a look through the forum and wanted to check if there were any recent thoughts about using the standard ones, Touratech or Machine Art ones.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Metal BMW Motorrad GSA ones are £62.01 each for the metal plate. I do not know how much the rubber inserts or bolts and spacers are though.

£72 for the full unit. Looks like the cheaper option and they work. Do like the look of the Machine Art ones.

Thx for the feedback. The Machine Art are being redesigned and available after April, feedback on the Touratech was poor so have ordered the OEM BMW ones.

I've had the Touratech ones on a GS, but they wouldn't fit my GSA (or to be more accurate, they wouldn't fit on one side because the cylinder head is closer to the crash bars which fowl it fitting).

Took my BMW ones off because the guys at the off-road course in Wales said they were more trouble than they were worth.

This was because they mount into threaded holes on the cylinder. They had incidents where a swiping blow caused the bolts to be wrenched out or sheared off in the cylinder casing causing a lot more expensive fix than a new head cover.

I now use Motech bars.
