1200GSA LC Clutch Problem

Mine had all things replaced as yours did and I find that I miss gear changes more often than I used on dragging clutch. I was told by Service manager that clutch issue hasn't been fixed permamently yet by BMW...

I've been told that, but FFS how long does it take to fix it? Most of us will have new bikes before they do at this rate!

New clutch

For those with new clutch and improved gear change a question. Is there gear drag, or clash, when changing at high revs?

So I had the same issue: NEW R1200GSA 2014, neutral issue.

I figured out a way to resolve it without surgery, I believe....

The problem with the first to second neutral seems to be related to gentle stops in town for me. Dropping down through gears, to first, then no neutral on up shift, straight to 2nd.

SOLUTION:
Blip the throttle when shifting down to first. I tried the doggedly (no pun) and this resolves for me completely. Secondly, shifting to neutral before stopping from second also works.

I may learn to eat my words but for now this helped. So I wanted to share :)

Don't BMW put all new bikes through a short rolling road test before shipping the bike? I am sure that I saw a video of this somewhere with the tester going up and down the revs and through the gearbox - if that is the case then how come the tester passes the bike if it has a faulty gearbox?????

Bit of a 5watt comment that , think about it . Every bike .... Don't be a stupid boy:bounce1

Or another solution to the draggy clutch issue, might be to fit the quickshifter. Works great on my RT up and down the box.
My RT still clunks in to 1st, but clutchless shifts from there are buttery smooth.

I think they do test every bike which rolls off the line on a simple rolling road to determine the engine runs , the gearbox can go through all gears and the brakes work

there's a video of it out there somewhere

.

My 13 got a thrust washer changed under warantee. I forgot to check out the old part before leaving the dealers.
Much improved but still nothing to write home about.

My 2013 enduro model had a replacement clutch but this didn't resolve the problem. In the end the dealer took back the bike and I got a new TE model.
