Are there any known warranty issues for the rear disks on the 1200GSA?

Mine's an '06, done just over 14000 miles and apparently the disk needs changing.

I've seen lots of messages about disks being swapped for free on the standard 1200 but does it apply to the GSA too?

Quick reply apreciated as the bike is at the Stealers as we speak.

It'll depend on what the dealer dicides caused the problem. Is the disc warped, or just worn? If it is warped & still under warranty, there shouldn't be a problem. If it is worm excessively, the dealer will have to decide whether you caused the problem or not.

have you had the bike from new? if not the previous owner may have been caught out (as so many of us) by the original pads wearing through at around 4K and damaging the disc before it could be spotted. I had pads and discs renewed under warranty, possibly previous owner just changed pads?

I had a rear disc done under warranty at 18k. Had to complain to BMW UK to get it done.

So the rear pads are crap? Mine is an 08 with 2K ish. Should I change the pads? if so to what? Thanks - sorry for the mini high jack of the thread - no offence meant. :beerjug:

Got to say the rear brake is er not very good - would a change of pads fix it or are they all like that?
