One thing I'm not entirely happy with is that there's a lot of wind noise and buffeting over the top of the screen, even at full extension. I'm 6'2", btw.

What does the panel recommend for extending the screen height? Do BMW make a taller screen, or do I have to buy a bolt-on doohickey from the colonies?

Ta,
Alan

Coo, thanks Wapping - that lot will keep me busy for a while...

May I add that I feel slightly hard done by, what with your having not posted a humorous, wry, ironic or otherwise post-modern reply?

try

Remove the lugs which stop the screen going any higher and you can move it up a couple of notches, look at your screen they are on the plastic nut like things which hold your screen on at the side.

or go lower.....

As a 6'5" 1200GS rider, I've found the best answer is to reduce screen height, not increase it. Bought myself a Machine Art slip screen from NN. No wind noise, and no buffeting. Cruise at 80 in clean air. Bliss!

dont know

So does it work for us less tall riders then Lloyd?

Not sure Brian,

Your welcome to give mine a go before you chop the lugs off, its only a five minute job tho and you can still set the screen anywhere you choose, i suppose the only problem which may occur is that as ive got the tinted screen it may hinder your vision.

How are you finding the GSA over the GS.

i'm 6'4" and tried cutting off the lugs, then a laminar lip, i even bought a shuberth helmet to try and reduce the wind noise, in the end i got a tour-x as i found the peak stops the downward swirl of wind from the top of the screen

cheers dave

Yep must give that a try, Nigel mentioned the same mod to me. Loving the GSA, can't quite say exactly what the difference is but just feels more planted on the road and the ESA is great. I am sure it handles better too. Strange really but the GSA almost feels smaller than the GS, must be the size of the tank and seating position.

There's a clue in the thread - Wapping recommended the Screen Extender, which is pretty spendy but looks nice and appears to do the biz.

Sorry, I thought 'Screen extender' was a generic name, not a specific item. Still, youdid save me from searching all the threads.

Cheers
