First forum post so please be gentle.
Had an 1150GSA from '02 to '06 then a 1200GSA from '06 to '08 then my current 1200GSA. The 1200 is a great bike and does everything well but for me (and quite a few others it seems) it really lacks the character of my first one so it has to go. Ideally I wanted a black 2 spark ABS but have found an '02 silver non abs 7k miles mint apart from a scratched right hand guard and engine bar. Its up for £5690 (private). I've lost track of values and price guides seem pretty useless. Is it worth it? What do you reckon guys?

Nick, that still sounds like its a bit expensive ;) Is it a single spark? I wouldn't get fixated on that one- there's plenty about at this time of year if you just be a bit patient, and don't fret over the mileage either :)

I had an 03 1150 ADV until March this year- decided to change to a 1200, it did everything I needed but again it lacked character (IMHO) so I've now got a 53 plate mint 1150 GSA, for less wonga than the one you're looking at :thumb

Bryn, it is a single spark. Reckon he would take less. Might offer £5k? I must admit the mileage is the main attraction. I would prefer a black 2 spark ABS. Probably should wait but I'm not known for my patience. What did you pay for yours? What mileage?

Why do you want a 2 spark ABS bike as AFAIK they're the ones with the love / hate servo assist?
I remember riding a loan 2 spark a while back and found it performed slightly better (less vibes). Now that you mention it I hated the servo lark. Do all 2 sparks have it?

Not been funny or trying to have a dig,but what is the "character"that some folks feel that some bikes have ???

53 plate GSA that's been blinged up in SE colours- 18000 miles, stainless bolts throughout, HID main and dip lights £5200

BE Patient!

One will come up......

Meanwhile I can't wait to take some more pics of the bike outside the back garden- this one's getting far too much coverage :augie

Nice one. If a bit of patience could get me one like that then I'll wait. Did it come with the guard between the header pipes? Looks like a sensible mod.

Came with the crud guard as well ;) Easy enough to get hold of one:thumb

Stebel Magnum horn on it, white lenses on the indicators with iridium bulbs, red led's in the clocks plus a few more little bits :)

Blimey why would you? Character is about 30KG heavier slower and not as quick handling.True they are a bit more of a Tonka toy and not as complicated.I've gone from a GSA!2 to a GSA12 SE and love it ,its lighter fast handles well and looks great, it also has a real character and I cant stop riding it :thumb2 A lot is said on here about how the 1200's are unreliable but they have sold so many that just on the law of averages a few will break down.If you can afford it buy a cheap 1100/1150 to stick in the garage to lovingly look at, and have the 1200 for some fun:augie:D

Strange post when you've started two threads singing the praises of your latest bike.

Sing the praises of my latest bike, yes i will it's got the makeings of a great bike, but i did not say it had "character"
My dogs got character and i've known a few people with it,but i've never had a bike with it.
