I've had both. I found the st1300 so boring I didn't like the way that at speed the wind would push you forward as if someone was behind you pushing you in the middle of your back. I sold it within a week. It had no character the Girl friend loved it very comfy for pillions. The only thing I liked was the Honda original top box. Hope it works for you.

Spent many years on various sports bikes before moving over to the bmws just over 5 years ago. I just fancied a change and the trade in prices offered by several dealers was pitiful for me to stay with BMW and try the rt. hence the shift to Honda. Having ridden them before I knew what I was getting so am pleased. I guess they are not everyone's cup of tea. It's early days so it will be interesting to see if the honda can hold my interest as long as the GS did.

I have an ST1300 and GS1150 and love both bikes. The GS is my daily commuter bike and has been fantastic so far in all conditions. The Honda is silky smooth and has tremendous power delivery. I find I don't get blown around in the wind on the motorways with the Honda and the weather protection is second to none. I have not experienced the speed wobble and have to say that the Honda is the most planted bike that I have ever ridden. It really should not handle so well for such a big bike. It does get slightly hot in the summer if you are stuck in traffic, but that is not surprising with that enormous engine. I would highly recommend the bike to anyone and ignore the weight issue, as that all disappears as soon as you start rolling. The GS is completely different, but really has character. I have not ridden the Honda since the summer as the GS is the go to bike. I am thinking that my next bike will probably be a GS 1200 Adventure, but I am more than happy with the 1150 for the moment as an all year round - do everything bike. The SERV group that I am a part of use Honda Pans and Deauvilles and so I will still be riding Hondas. Happy riding
