I have just started fitting the wunderlich 40mm up and back bar risers.
I loosened the four clamp bolts and removed the clamps.
Then I decided to look at the instructions and realised that maybe my understanding of bar clamps was wrong.
I have always made sure that the gap at either side of the clamp was equal.
However that does not seem to be how these clamps work.
The instructions seem to indicate that one side of the clamp (the front) has zero gap and the tightening is done by the rear bolt that ends up with a gap.
I presume the front bolt can be done up firmly as the two faces are in contact, and the rear bolt is the one that applies the clamping force, leaving a gap.
I wish I had looked at the clamp gaps before I removed them !
Is this right ?
