I had a day out recently, and noticed on my way home that the front wheel was wobbling. I rang my local dealer and I've had it in there this morning. After 2 1/2 hours the conclusion was that the front wheel is "buckled". It was ok when I had left home, I had a full day out, and had not hit anything or ridden down kerbs etc. They told me this morning that this would not be covered under warranty, but "they would have a word with BMW". As one of the customers at the garage said "you would have to hit something very hard to buckle one of those wheels". It's the adventure with the wire wheels (in gold), which is also designed for off road use, so should be up to the job anyway. Has anyone else had anything similar?

prob loose spokes not checked on pdi and have loosened more.
dealer should stand over it if rim not dented?

What Unicycler said, maybe go round and check all the spokes yourself, I’ve had to have a wheel replaced on warranty because of loose spokes, so I now give them a “twang” on a regular basis

PDI’s are all done centrally by BMW HQ now I believe, so your bike may have been PDI’d when a monkey was on duty

Sitting in garage looking at my no spoke wheels. :popcorn

Smug git

I think it’s a problem with the gold rims, they should only ever be on an Africa Twin, the rims can feel the betrayal of being thrown onto a BMW and are committing Hare Kare

:beerjug: BMW lovers will come soon.

I too suspect you may have had loose spokes, although I would have thought they would have checked this whilst looking the bike over.
As mentioned, these wheels are pretty tough, I hit a bloody great big stone out of a dry stone wall at 60mph on my previous GSA, absolutely no damage to the wheels.

My BMW is on the Ting Tings at the moment. Don't have to clean them as much in dry weather.

Soon as the weather turns it's back to Alloys :thumb2

update

My local dealer (Bowkers in Preston) are refusing to fix it under warranty. They say "we've got some excellent engineers who may be able to fix it, otherwise you will have to buy a new wheel". That's the wrong answer as far as I'm concerned. I'll go up the food chain, and see what happens, but they may have a battle on their hands !

Check the spoke tension..... each spoke should give a clear Ting when tapped with a screw driver or spanner - any Tonks you have a problem.. more than seven Tonks the wheel could run out
