1250 to 1300-Is it worth the upgrade ?

I saw and sat on a 1300 yesterday for the first time. Quite small.

It’s strange, a few have said it’s small

It does look small to look at and when you’re sitting on it the front end sort of tapers off, not unlike the pre LC 1200 did

Oddly, I’m certain my legs are less cramped than on my 1200, slightly less bent,

There’s also more room between wifey and me when she’s on the back

If they give the 1300RT a bit more leg room than the 1250 I reckon it will be the perfect tourer when it comes

Depends on how long your legs are, I'm 5ft 8 and find the 1250 RT perfectly comfortable.

I like the bulk of the 1250 up front, how it looks and how it rides. But then again I’m a tart and the Desert X rally is gorgeous but so impractical for my needs.

The answer depends

If you have owned your 1250 for 4 years and in the market for a new bike, then it makes sense to go for a 1300

if you have owned your 1250 less than a year, no don't bother wait a while

Genuinely funny comment about his underpants being on fire!

I found the legroom a bit tight but seems rarely commented on, maybe i was on a low seat version when i tried a demo, it’s my only real negative.

Another Monthy Python video two old tossers going slow on a straight road talking about how more feedback and dynamic the 1300 is… Of course the end is how much more dynamic the MS or 1290 is while in truth a 1980 R80G/S would be even dynamic enough for their riding and gave even more feedback with its bouncy fork… I want my 15 minutes back from these time bandits as only Bahnstormer ( nice name as the combined the best from Autobahn & Stormtrooper ) benefited from this boring test ride scoring a couple of sales…maybe ! As for roll-on it looked like pretty much even to me as 15hp/nm more get negated by taller gearing and shorter stroke…And the sound of the new one is pretty weak and the smaller tank does not matter either taking the bike out on a slow poke for 30 minutes…Oh well at least Chopsie brought the bike back in one piece after his dynamic test ride thanks to all the feed back the new 1300 gave him… And I must say sitting on it the 1250 looks so much better as from the riders perspective the 1300 looks weird…The 1250 reminds me of a R1100S with a handlebar while the 1300 looks like a dirtbike….

Yet both those tossers are younger than you and they’re actually out riding bikes for real and not living in some weird fantasy world .

Agree with Leadfarmer , feels the same as the old 1250 . Not crampt at all , but we do have the view as owners not testers .1000 + miles in now , great bike , to add its a new design , so some will find it odd compared to the old bike but its the same , like a new pair of shoes , not the same as the old ones but give it time , its the same....
