1250 to 1300-Is it worth the upgrade ?

Arsey I would not call that riding just putting around but on these straight roads partly wet and cold you cant go riding but ILMAO listening to these gurlz how much more dynamic the new one was and how much more feedback it gave them…🤣 And best of all when the 1250 pulled away on the roll-on blaming it on the heavier weight of the fatso sitting on the 1300…🤣 Cant wait to test the new one myself to see if you can actually feel the difference in power and put top case and boxes on it and see if it still wobbles like an old goats dick above 120 mph…😉
Well how about you do us a video of you current bike with the riding you do, so we can all get a better understanding of your awesome riding environment and skillz bro

Suprise noone mentioned the 1300GS as a comparison with the new 1200 Tiger. ?
When I rode the Tiger I felt it slightly (compared to a 1200/1250 GS ) sharper more nimble, slightly lighter, a bit more 'ballistic' above 6000 rpm.... A bit better braked ... Basically most of the characteristics people are saying about the 1300GS!!!

Just my thought.... Not ridden the new GS yet
Because they are shite ….. 😂😂

EKIMYRF…Join me on the next trip to 🇲🇽 for some bag scraping…👍Last time I saw some Limeys down there was when Nick Sanders organized a group of BMW riders going to Ushuaia…They were all missing feedback though as the were riding 1200GS Rallys and one guy had a RT which must have been awfully hot 🥵 But probably great later on the higher passes of the andes 😉

Why on earth do you think I would want to do that ? I just want you to provide evidence of your awesome skillz to back up your comments :)

Unlike the new 1300, where your bike is off the road for 3 months because of the starter relay recalls? :headbat :ROFLMAO:
I am not getting a 1300 anytime soon. But I have a couple of very good mates who have Triumphs and they have had their fair share of issues, so think all bikes have problems. My mates bike foot pegs sheared off after a few months.

Sadly I agree buddy - I'm thinking of a Stelvio (swapping for my V85TT, and still keeping my GS) - I'm hoping they've ironed out most issues already on the Mandello ;)
I guess I hoped for more with a "premium" BMW at a premium price...

I had a Tiger 1200 and they were anything but trouble free. Lots of electrical issues (common), it cooked the gonads in warm weather, some of the bodywork fixings were well below par (front fairing and light bar fixings were fragile and poor quality), the front engine casing paint bubbled off despite acf550 regularly applied and the bike kept clean, and it was the most top heavy ponderous thing at slow speeds making hair pin negotiation a bottom clenching experience. I would never buy another. I changed that for a 1200GSA, and whilst it had a few minor issues, including paint bubbling and left switch cluster intermittently not working (trip/info button used to stick a lot) it was night and day better to ride and more reliable.

Don't think so , but Pyramid plastics are supposed to be developing one.

Machineart Moto are, saying:

We will definitely be working to get products for the 1300 developed and on the market as quickly as possible; including X-Heads, a MudSling, and a front fender extender.
It will most likely be at least a few months into '24 before we have anything available. We'll be letting everyone know for sure. If you like, I can add your name to our newsletter contacts, and you'll be among the first notified.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks for your interest in Machineart Moto!

Safe riding out there.

Kind Regards,

Nate

I don't think they do huggers just the mudsling. Both worked very well on the 1250.

EKI I love to provide evidence anytime but unfortunately you have the same excuse as Arsey…🤣 As for Arseys original question I hear the Joosa gets their bikes in february so after break in we finally get to give it the berries and taken that it will handle even quicker than the 1250 as reported , not faster up to 100 mph due to taller gearing will finally find out if the new frame at least make the 5 mph higher topspeed of 141 mph feasible while the old one will try to spit you off at 136 getting frisky from 120 on with bags & top box…😳 That might be the only reason to spend all that money to upgrade because looks , 3 kilos less that can be equally saved on the 1250 if you put it a Lithium battery and dont fill up the tank to the brim , missing taillight , ugly radar boxes for adaptive cruise control/auto brake I dont even use in my car , smallish tank and lack of exhaust sound definitely are not on the worthy to upgrade side…I forgot the linked to the front foot brake that will result in a sure embarrassing tipover trying to do a tight turn on steering lock on friction point of foot brake and clutch…😖Again if you only go to Starbucks or the Overland Expo in town or dont do these tight turns a small tank or linked foot brake are no problems or if you like motorcycles that have no sound and you like to go to austria you probably wont find this a problem either and love the low rider feature if you have sub 30 inseam…😉

For anyone to believe that this latest helping of the GS brand would have no issues or recalls is a little Naive. Of course it will, as any new product brought to market. I was issued the first generation SA80 ........ Five years later over 120 modifications :ROFLMAO:
Real world User will always be the tester !

Compared to the GS the Tiger is no Tiger but a Elephant...Way to top-heavy,weird sound for a Adventure bike and way too much money for a product made in a low wage country like Thailand...Thaiumpf Elephant , good motorcycle will love you long and cheap...LOL
