I'm away from my bike at the moment but need to find the thread diameter - 8mm or 10mm - of the mirrors, can anyone help please?

The thread is M10 - 1,5 pitch.
Attention, standard pitch for M10 would be 1,25 but on 1250GS it's 1,5.
I installed mirrors extenders and had to order those bolts. I was lucky as I use aftermarket mirrors that bolted into extenders with standard M10 1,25 pitch but to bolt extenders into handlebars I needed bolts M10 1,5 pitch

“Standard” M10 is 1.5 pitch

Didn't know that. I have box full of bolts, many of them M10 kept after some jobs done (purchased in local hardware stores). When I needed 2 bolts to bolt the extenders none of them was right pitch. They were all 1,25 so I tought it was standard.

That's odd.
In the picture, the lock nut, #3, is specified as 10 x 1,25.

Well, I'm a bit confused as I've spoken from my memory but if someone really needs it, I can measure thread pitch on my bike.

According to OP, the pitch was not important knowledge.
So I suggest we go the standard route: Blame it on old age (anything above 18) and alcohol. :D :D :friday
