1290 GT

Yep, that would have been mine.

It wasn’t a bad ride home and it was only an hour after getting in the house that I remembered I’ve now got a quick shifter to play with so I might need to have a quick ride around the neighbourhood to try it out.

Good for you Andy, haven't even taken mine out of the van yet (haven't told the mrs yet :) don't suppose I'll use it until the Spring. Going to have the touring kit fitted at first service, first time I have been to Gear4's new place, very impressive!

John. Yours is still in the van!
Mine is in the garage waiting to be registered for January.

We are getting old!
Years ago we would be out riding such fantastic bikes.

Now we are just happy looking at pictures and the YouTube clips.

Not too old Nick, just sensible, cars are for Winter! :)

Mine has now had the touch of the surgeon as I tried to find a way to route the satnav cable under the tank and back to the battery. There’s no way I’m connecting it where you’re supposed to behind a cover on the right hand side below the headlight because a) the spade connectors are almost impossible to get at and b) there’s too much junk attached to lead (transformer maybe?) but space is also rather limited behind the right hand side panels.

I’ll probably reassess the situation tomorrow and try to approach things from the battery side then when I get it sorted I’ll take a few photos showing what a mess I’ve made of it

Today’s top tip is not to worry about fault lights if you’ve got heated seats and have removed them because it’s not that you’ve dislodged something important, KTM just don’t want you riding off without the bum warmer connected.

Paul said they’d forgotten to fit the touring kit on one that went out yesterday :blast

Can anyone who’s bought one of these beasties take a look at the right hand bar end and see if the is anything eg a spacer between the bar end and rubber of grip.

Or

Take a really close look at the end of the two bars and see if they differ in terms of a fitting piece between end of bar end and rubber.

Thanks guys

Jim

Paul recovered well when I suggested he checked his emails to confirm my order, top man though, knocked £100 off the price and offered to fit my Garmin GPS holder as well, so will let them do that at 1st service.

.

You are doing this totally wrong, the 12v accessory leads are under the clocks and not right panels ! remove the torx screws from the clocks and lift off, the spade connectors are easily accessible .

That’s where I was going to start from but at the dealers they said access the leads by removing the cover on the right hand side directly under the clock. Not the tank covers, indicators etc, just a small black cover held on with one torx screw and a couple of plastic tongues that slide into yet another piece of plastic.

I’ll have another look after breakfast but before I retreat to the pub at lunchtime.

Does anyone know if there are many bikes left with dealers at the £10,999 price? Thanks

Sorry can't answer your question. Still a few advertised on eBay.

I paid a bit extra and purchased a brand new one to be registered on 01/01/2018.

It's new with panniers, heated seats, sat nav mount, Ktm tinted screen. Radiator cover, tank protector, and a couple of covers.

Knowing me. It will be sold before I ride the bloody thing.

Maybe people are waiting to see if they cut the adventure prices in Jan?

Just spotted a unused 1290S demonstrator for only £12500 on eBay. Birmingham KTM dealer.

Harrumph - after much dithering I’ve decided to buy one rather than upgrade my GS. I hope I haven’t missed the boat - my local dealer is closed until after the New Year so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Good shout. Who makes the radiator and tank cover you’ve listed. Very interested in these.

Thanks

Jim

The wires are there, you can see the spades connectors under the clocks
