1290 SA R

I'm still not sure about the headlight, but who cares. If only it had shaft, I might be tempted back to the orange side.

Poor old AC is out in Peru for MCN currently ......... http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/.../march/ktm-1290-super-adventure-r-first-ride/

Must be a real bugger of a job, missing the family on a wet Sunday back in the UK

Chains aren't the pain in the arse that they used to be, now that there are some decent non flick lubes/ chain cleaners on the market (SDoc100).

I said I would never have another chain driven bike after the GS, but my commuter had one, the Mrs bike had one so I stall had two to deal with so when the KTM offer came up I was not so bothered - the extra suspension performance is probably worth a bit of lubing / cleaning.

I would buy another shaft bike, but it would have to tick all the other boxes as well as the KTM first.

The bike is probably not for everyone, and the majority of those who do buy it, might not even plan on using it to its full potential. But it’s nice knowing that the potential is there. Peruvian desert at 75 mph or not, I find it hard to believe you wouldn’t be surprised by what this bike is capable of.
Get out there and try it, I dare you. It dares you.
