1290 super adventure pic!

Let's hope it rides well, as you wouldn't buy one for its looks!:aidan

I guess it depends if you want a bike that has more power than a GSA, more torque than a GSA, is lighter than a GSA, handles better than a GSA, has a better gearbox and (slipper) clutch than a GSA, is better built than a GSA, is more engaging to ride than a GSA and is far more individual with bags more character than a GSA

or

a bike to look at and clean :P

I actually think it looks ok for a big tourer (which ultimately is what it is).

It's only a few kilos lighter than a GSA going on KTM's own figures. Will it handle better? Who knows. Is it better built than a GSA? From what I have seen of the 1190 I doubt it? More engaging? A subjective viewpoint? More character? Again, subjective. Will they have finally sorted out the excessive levels of engine heat affecting the rider?

Until they actually hit the market your claims are nothing more than conjecture.

.................and all said with my tongue firmly in my cheek, lighten up :)

However, my 'claims' are far more than conjecture really aren't they, they are all factual when it comes to power, torque, weight, gearbox etc and based upon the experiance of my 1190 most of my other 'claims' are pretty factual too :P

I'm nicely lightened thank you, but I suspect that your attempt to try and make light of it now suggests you need to chill out Andres :)

No, your claims are an opinion, not facts. There is a difference :P

Wow, KTM have got you right where they want you!:comfort:D

Yep, in love with a bike because of how it makes you feel. :clap

Unlike our other learned cynic, who can quote facts and figures like anyone else but until they fall into line (and his leg doesn't get too warm:comfort) will continue to be dismissive:rolleyes:

He damn nearly had the corners of those panniers down on the Station Hairpin........even if they are mounted high, they're too low :eek

I see you haven't lost your ability to spout total rubbish Timolgra, or to deny an obvious problem that has been widely reported. Nor have you lost your knack in trying to put down people for no good reason other than you dislike their valid opinions. Carry on like this and you will end up a very bitter and twisted old man. Oh, you already are :D

Yep you're right I'm already a bitter and twisted old man, who put's down people for making valid opinions, of which you have many, still it could be worse .........

Fixed it for you.

I'm liking the look of it more than the standard 1190.But the seat looks a bit low and so do the panniers !!
The seat height on higher setting is 875 whereas the R is 890,which is better for me.
Still prefer the 1190R for looks.

If they brought out a 1290R with 30litre tank, heated seat and grips, that would be perfect.

And I actually almost wish that this 1290 was shaft drive.Still going to have to try one though !!

They will !!

Im loving my new 1190 Avd R
there is an issue with heat from under the seat onto the riders leg and it does boil the manbusiness a bit but no way a deal breaker this is cured with the Wings end can and seat cooler, id guess there will be something very similar on the new version to cool the riders undercarriage, the bike will evolve, just like the 1200 GS has over the years !!

Not too into the 1290 Adv TBH its maybe a little too lardy, the main reason I traded out of the Explorer the KTM just seemed a bit leaner and meaner lol

It's got one of those disc lock things on the front NS brake calliper - just like wot Cookie has

and jolly handy it is too :)

mine is on the OS though. i think the one in the film must be a johnny foreigner LHD bike :D
