My final drive is leaking from the rear offside seal - fine. But now oil is coming out underneath. Can anyone give me an idea of where it would be leaking and seals required from the photos below (marked with a very faint read circle)? Thanks

Mine has just started leaking from the offside big seal behind the disc carrier and oil is all over the disc and wheel.
Looks to me like your is leaking from the pinion shaft seal, mine did exactly the same on way to Spain this year, oil runs/drips down through the gap under the F/D caseing.
Quoted €375 inc parts but only Cost me €207 at a spanish BMW dealer.
Check by pulling back the Rear swing arm gaiter and see if you have oil around this area.

Hope that helps.

If it is the seal I mentioned, then I'm sure it requires a special tool to remove the castlated collar, and a bloody strong arm, see PATZX post about rebuild I think it covers this area.

My second FD on my 2004 bike leaked from the same seal - FD replaced under warranty again.

OIL LEAK FINAL DRIVE

TGHE OIL ON YOUR REAR DRIVE WOULD HAVE TO BE LEAKING FORWARD WHICH IS PROBABLY VERY UNLIKELY
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT WAS THE GEARBOX OUTPUT SEAL LEAKING AND RUNNING DOWN THE SWING ARM AND COMING OUT AS YOURS

CHECK GEARBOX OIL LEVEL BEFORE PULLING TO BITS IF IT IS DOWN THIS IS THE SOURCE
TO REPLACE REMOVE WHEEL BRAKE CALIPER BRAKE ARM AND SWING ARM GET SEAL OUT GENTLY AND CLEAN UP AND FIRT NEW SEAL CHECK GEARBOX OIL LEVEL [LEVEL WITH FILLER HOLE/ AND REASEMBLE

I think mine is leaking from the inside seal behine the disc too, my disc keeps getting coated in greasey residue but not bad enough to cover the wheel.
Its a unit ordered in October from Motorworks, luckily they've agreed to replace FOC.
Looks like I'll get a chance to test the spare unit I bought last week then.

re bsogris reply about gearbox oil as the source (before you start replacing seals):

I've had this a few of times, caused by a blocked gearbox breather.

Check it by blowing into gearbox through the filler (tricky unless you've got a small head and/or big lips :D). It'll be obvious whether it's breathing correctly (if you look like Dizzy Gillespie - it's blocked).

nothing to worry abt, no need to fix it.... eventually the leaking stops as no more oil in it..... Then the FD breaks. It would have broken anyway though. Then you ask BM to replace. They laugh. Then you go to p/x the dog at a another dealer for the latest model. They bid £40 for the scrap metal worth of your bike. No worries, only lost 10 big ones in depreciation in 3 years. Its only £10 per day and a new bike every 36 months without ever fixing/servicing anything. Job done.
