I've ridden both but not back to back and the GSA test was in bad weather. Tomorrow I'm riding both (after already putting a deposit on a GSA but now I'm just not sure).
I took my 1150 (standard) to Skye last BHM and it was fab - pinned to the stop for mile after mile (sometimes) and of course I have no good reason to sell it (just 3 year itch) - had a swap for a while with my mates Ducati ST4 and Im not going down that sort of route again  (but he might go GS :D )
Even with panniers my GPS was reading 123mph and I loved it, so I thought maybe I'm after something lither and more sporty after all (which would mean the standard bike)

But the A just seems to have more character - It was only after I decided against an A last time and bought the standard one that I found that shorter seats were available for it.

So anybody tried both and then plumped for one and why? Also anyone bought an A with a standard GS seat in place of the A one? (and so not incurred extra cost)

Dave

I plan to have fune tomorrow (just hope that 1200S in the flesh doesn't tempt me ;)

That's it then - adventure it is - did the adventure then the standard and then the adventure again, I had to be sure because riding having ridden the adventure first, I warmed up on it and found the standard lighter and more agile and it felt a fair bit quicker - second time out on the adventure I was just as fast but better protected from the elements and the thing just felt more planted and I was just as happy to chuck it around through the twisties- fantastic bike, can't wait now, roll-on September!

tope afternoons entertain, :thumb

Why wait until september? Ring round dealers and you'll be pretty much guaranteed to get one a damned site quicker than that - cancelled orders etc.

......unless you live in N Ireland, in which case they won't sell you one under any circumstances......

In truth I place the order in the knowledge it would be a few months arriving - I don't want to change before 3 years are up on the 1150. Dealer loyalty may also be better one a bike purchased from them?
