Can I tap into the 7.5 amp fused line of the fuse block in the picture to power an Autocom without upsetting the canbus?

I was hoping to just tap in directly. I don't want to buy a PDM 60 unless I have to.

You don't have to buy a pdm60 or any other fancy widget......just use a normal 4 pin relay (about 3 quid) and feed the switch side of the coil from the place in your OP.
Wire the relay to the battery, then you will have 20 amps or 30 amps (depending on what rating of relay you use) to power anything you want, but switched by the wire you first mentioned with hardly any draw on that circuit.

Alternatively, use the feed from the back of one of your auxiliary power sockets to switch a relay.

A lot of people get scared by relays, but they are VERY simple once you've got your head around the idea, and you can use them to do all sorts of clever stuff without affecting the canbus system.

If you use the auxiliary power socket to connect to a battery charger, your relay will stay live as the canbus system keeps the socket live. So I would connect the relay, as Fanum suggests, to the fuse wire you have identified.

I have fitted Autocom and radios to 4 GSA LCs now and have used this wire to provide the trigger for a relay as described by Fanum. Personally, I use a fused relay fitted with a 5 amp fuse - they cost about £8 - but you can fit a fuse to suit whatever application you need. Relays come in all shapes and sizes - more than one output is easy and they are a very safe and cheap way of avoiding CANBUS issues. A full wiring loom, incluidng therelay for an Autocom fit costs less than a tenner and will provide safe and clean power for years.
