12v socket

I've just got one of these at maplins, and the plan is to fit one of Jaythro's BMW type plugs on the end instead of the cigarette type and thread it into my tankbag. Put the tankbag on the bike and plug it in.

What's really great about it is that it has two USB sockets as well as two cigarette style sockets. I've tried it out in the car and it had my phone and camera charging via USB no problem.

I reckon that I'll have the tankbag with me anytime I'm going to be away for more than a few hours so that's the only time I will need charging facilities. Also it means no messing with the original socket on the bike, which appeals to me.

The Maplins code is A52JC. I'll do a post when I've the job done.

That looks good, exactly what i had in mind, just have that in the tank bag, and poke the ciggy lead through the zip, and plug into an extension taken upto the handle bars.

Those tankbag using Powerlet connections look interesting, you make a hole in the bag, and just have those connectors? Bit of an overkill for me, had my bike nearly 6 months now, not needed tank bag yet, only need it for TomTom really.

Going to the Isle of Man TT this year hopefully, and want to use TomTom with Tyre to plot a nice route through the Peak District.
