Totally agree, no higher risk apart from extra cost of auto gearbox +£800.You will need to ring round, bike sure and bmw insurance (might have been devitts) gave me a quote for the 1300 'manual' when no one else would, bmw insurance had been told by underwriter to put the 1300 down as a 1250 on the policy, add a note to the policy, and would get in touch when the 1300 was on the system - and thats what happened.
The bike cannot be any bigger risk than a 1300 from an insurers perspective, virtually same bike, same power, looks the same.
I had one of the first 1250s and a broker did same as you say with that , out down as a 1200 but with a provision on the policy that it was a 1250.
I did try BMW insurance and that did quote on £23k. Trouble is it was a lot more expensive than existing policy. Other annoying thing is it was with Ageas, guess who I'm with now through Bennetts & who they say existing company won't quote , yes, Ageas!!.
What is going on.
I need someone to get past the computer system that's saying No.
I'm hoping by the time the bike is here (end of Oct) they will have sorted their systems out.
