Any one run a 140 tyre on there R100GS, i understand you have to run a spacer, is it worth the effort, do you notice the offset while riding on the dirt or tar.
Cheers.

I have had one on without a spacer I am almost sure it was an Anakee
no chace with an off tarmac type
got another going on next week as well

Why? :nenau

What's wrong with a 130? 10mm can't make that much difference. You'll surly loose more of your handling than you'd gain in off road grip.

I know from experiance that a 5mm offset can have a huge effect on the handling of a motorcycle. Makes it feel quite odd.

So i will notice a dig difference on the road with a 140 tyre and a spacer, thats what i wanted to know. If i fit a 140 Anakee i may not need a spacer but i dont think its going to help on the road with a 90/90 - 21 Mitas E 07 on the front.

I dont think its worth the effort as most of my riding is on the tar and off the tar i dont push the bike to hard anymore, im slowing down.

when off roading or in big expeditions I use a 140 michelin desert.

I just bought 3mm of spacer(bmw K75) from motorworks and add a big O-Ring to avoid the ingress of mud and dust in the rear break.

much more simple them what I was expecting.

I don't notice anything in the handling of the bike on and off road

Mine went ont back cos it were free
Next uns ont back cos it were cheap = 10 quid
I dont recall me having any handling problems with the different sizes
I aint that good that I would notice anyway :rob
gravel and diesel dont discriminate
The 140 came off a mystic so although a mystic has a tadge smaller front wheel
are we sure it would be owt to bother about ??
