16MY GSA Issues

can you really reject a bike for a gearbox fault?

I don't want it messed with at all, but if it needs a new gearbox, it needs a new gearbox

Under the new consumer law that came into force 1st oct you have more rights.

If the goods are faulty, and you bought them from a UK-based retailer, you are entitled to ask for them to be repaired - or to get a full refund. The Act says you can now get that refund up to 30 days from purchase. The money must be returned to you within 14 days.

Well,

bikes back today.

Sat nav wheel. Sorted

Brakes. Seam better, but not as rock solid as my last GS

Neutral light. Still fooked and requires a new gearbox, which means engine out....

Its not like the engine has to come to bits now is it.

Taking engine out is only a few bolts. Removing gearbox from engine is but a few more.

At least they are not breaking the gearbox into bits to fix problem.

Rejection in this case may be legal and easily done but seems a bit strong.

on the new motor the box is inside not just bolted on, i must have the only one that nearly works, faultless smooth changes, neutral every time, but in to first gear, Oh dear

Seen one done, more than a few bolts , all that is left is the front wheel, forks, loom and main frame once the motor is removed

I've got a MY16 GS TE, and also think that the brake action is a bit spongier than I'd like, although it still stops fine. The brakes are better than on my previous '07 bike, but the feel isn't as good as I remember on a couple of '10/'11 bikes I rode.

All well and good, i'll be getting a replacement bike next weekend. One came up in Sheffield, exactly the same spec as mine so Vines have sent a van up for it. Just need to sort out the other more complicated things, like the 2.9% finance i was on, which is now stopped etc etc.
