17 inch front wheel

few years ago I meet one of you beemer (GS 1100 )who change his front wheel with R1100 front wheel and the back change to a K1200 , to him that change was great and make his bike a real cornering machine ( his own vocabulary) ,, I know also that the new Tiger get a 17 front wheel
I personnely never have off road and ride a lot of montain road ( 2/3 of my ride is on very twisty road)
anybody try to change their front wheel ????
I know for sure that it will affect the clearance by 1,25 cm ( lower bike )
but does it help on coner ?????
any experience ??? good or bad , just let me know
