171 mph GSA

Can anyone enlighten me regarding top end speed of a shaft driven bike. Will the bike only achieve a given speed due to the gearing regardless of engine improvement? Would be aware that it will get there quicker.

I'm guessing he's suggesting that on a chain driven bike, it's possible to up the gearing and if you tune the engine to produce more power so that it'll pull that higher gear to the redline, you can achieve a higher maximum speed. On a shaftie, it's a bit more difficult to change the final drive gearing.

If you really think that the "temperature adjustment " ( compensation...) and the measurement calibration is accurate to 1,5 psi , you are as much of a CU*NT as "engineer ".....

Top speed, i guess, given the 9k red line is about 147mph.

I wouldn't normally get so narky ....but "Engineer" is always so "cocksure" ......as others frequesntly observe!
I think I just wanted to point out; that although the screen indicates 37.4PSI ... It may actually have a "tolerance"!



(Its interesting that (others also observed) the bmw recommended pressures seem high ... and they are the same for one up , two up etc ... Unusual ?)

Engineer, in case you cant google it ...2.5 and 2.9 Bar is 36.3 and 42 psi

The pic showed 37.4 and 43.5. Its clearly not cold ( see engine temp) ...yet you post " his pressures are a tad high" WTF?

My guess would be it was a tongue in cheek comment. Like when someone points out how messy your lawn is or your garage is in a pic??

Well I wasn't expecting it to kick off like that. On the day in question the bike had just had its 500 mile service. I think the pressures should have been checked as part of that. Anyway is it like push bikes where higher pressure = less rolling resistance = higher speed for equivalent energy?
