A rare chance for an aficianado of the model to add to their collection.

Estimate £26-31k

oddly enough I was watching a couple of short vids of Elspeth Beard (the motorrad one came up on my algorithm) and her Belstaff plug has a nice looking PD about 14 seconds in...

Very clean , but ....

I'd deffo have a punt on this funds permitting

I’ve had a couple of Norton Rotary’s ..

Interpols :D …, they absolutely flew.
Only problem was on the early models, they idled on one cylinder, and a solaniod switched the second cylinder on as the throttle moved off idle.
Awful to ride in slow traffic, and used to wheelie away from traffic lights until you got used to how it operated :D

If i recall the only major difference from the F1 bikes and the road going bikes is the scavenge pipe from the combustions chambers to the exhaust,

Either way they flew (y)

All the white ones are ex job. I was invited to the factory to test ride a Norton.....there was a future green civvy version and a I.O.M. F1 next to each other. I casually sat on the F1 as if to take it out for a spin and members of staff ran out shouting that I was on the wrong one !:ROFLMAO:

We had a couple on the fleet — both 'owned' by senior PCs. I took one out for a spin — and asked the 'owner' if there was anything I ought to know about it, he said, “Yep — if you're thinking that there might be a chance of an overtake — it's definitely on”. :D

It was so long a wheelbase that it was a trial to ride around town (where — of course — they were based 🤦‍♂️) — but on the A-roads it was a beast.

They also sounded like a bag of bolts at low speed, as they were running on a single rotor. Remarkable bike…

A lottery win this evening, and I’d have that…..not to ride very often, but to keep original as a reference for future generations.
I would ride it, just occaisionally, and weather dependant of course.

Hope it goes to a good home, and gets used as it was designed to be.

That’s a PD tank… 32 litres I think….. standard on a r80g/s Paris Dakar. ( paint code has to be 999 under the seat)
Some g/s bikes had the large pd tank retro fitted by dealers, but only the factory Paris Dakar bikes were 999 code.

Mate has a PD that was factory built, bought to go round the world, ( which it did for five years) now scruffy and all the better for showing its age and history. I knew the original owner/purchaser ( sadly now deceased) and have first dibs if it ever needs a new home.

It’s got 3 studs on the rear wheel hub, does that make it a basic, I maybe wrong but I thought they have the more modern 4 studs from that era.
I wonder back in 1986 who would have thought the PD was a piece of art

Pre-1987 = Monolever, 3stud.

It’s a r80g/s mono, so should be 1980- 1987 ( not exactly sure of end date for the mono)
The basic was a paralever rear end, 4 stud rear wheel.

Elspeth owns a Basic, with a PD tank fitted….. used to belong to a resident on here.
She likes the Basic…..but still has her old /6 that she travelled the world on.
