Done a fruitless search, my Haynes only goes to 1983 and Clymer is usesless...
The Valeo starter motor appears to have packed up. The bike has only done some 25k miles but on having a look it appears that somebody has already removed/replaced the motor at some point - one of the two bolts securing the business end to the cases is a stainless item (that could do with being a few threads longer).
Are these two bolts all that holds the starter in place on the later Valeo equipped bikes?
Reason I ask is that I'm pretty sure the Bosch starter on my r75/6 had a triangular shaped bracket at the other end that bolted to the front of the cases. Has this triangular bracket gone missing - or is it something that was only used on the earlier bikes and/or bosch starters?
Cheers
