done that in an effort to defeat the voltage spikes that were turning off my indicators. it worked too.

Hi

I bought some solid diode board mounts ages ago only to discover that the diode board on my 93 gs was already on solid mounts from the factory. I think I gave them away to someone with an earlier model.

Anybody else have the same setup on the later gs with 'k type' switch gear? And should I still fit a larger ground wire in this case?

wiring upgrade

second bit on upgrades

yes upgrade regulator to police spec one then charges to 13.89 or 14 volts varies between regulators
2, put a thunder cat dieode board on serious bit of kit

3, put a thicker wire from the battery direct to the ignition switch inline fuse as well

no need for 400 watt upgrade I run 55/100 bulb and auto com heated vest no prolems
maverick had the same problems new bits of wire grand

Les's deal with Greg Hutchison may have fallen through. And I don't know if Les is still doing them. I may see him next month and if I remember will speak to him then.

On the Omega system - it has the same basic construction as the bm system - rotor directly on the end of the crank. So it will still get the vibration, rapid speed variations and heat that cause the bm rotor to fail. Possibly a better build quality may extend the life but the basic sources of failure still remain. And the parts won't be as cheap as a car alternator..

Me? Well I've gone with the K model. The airhead electrics I could cope with - carrying a spare rotor is not a big deal and was something may OZ airhead riders did.
