Right,

I risk making myself look (an even bigger) cock here but...

Did a search on front discs and not conclusive.

I have a lot of play in the front discs, there is a lot of wear on the bobbins, plus a bit of wear on the discs, but the worrying thing is the wheel.

Took the disc off today and it appears to sit on a ledge on the wheel so my question is has the ledge been worn in by the disc, I.e. should the part of the wheel which the disc sits on be perfectly flat, or is there a ridge which the disc sits on???

Hope I've described this well enough, if I could see some pictures it would be easier to understand!!!

Maybe these help

Surely that isn't possible ;)

Yes, careful filing will remove said ledge. Get a grown up to show you how to use one properly first though :thumb

Direction of rotation?

Along time ago in a distant galaxy I had a tyre fitted. The bike was horrid and when I finally, having fiddled about noticed the "arrow was running backwards.

Since then it has happened twice more!! It's worth checking!

I think the problem of the discs wearing away the wheel mounting posts was solved when BMW added thin washers between the wheel and disc (item 5).
