Love this site, very informative and required reading for any gs owner. (i have just scared myself silly reading the break failure stories) Bought my 1200GS from Park Lane 09/04, definately the best bike i have ever owned. Riding bikes for 25 years now, last bike VFR 800. Wish there was a dealer in my area, (Uxbridge, London). Never see any other 1200's in these parts, why is this i wonder? Just got back from a 300 mile w/e blast down to Dorset, most enjoyable ride, no probs.

BMW DEALER

I used to live in Uxbridge myself, the nearset dealer to yourself is/was Hughenden M40, don't even know if they are still in business for sure but i think they are, they were based in High Wycombe if memory serves me well, only a short blat along the M40.

They replaced my bought new 1981 R100RT with no questions asked when it suffered premature gearbox failure (2,000 miles) whilst riding back from Wales cruising at 90mph.

Replacement bike was an identical, R100RT in silver reg BUD21Y, possibly still on the road.

Hugenden M40 are still there aside the M40 near Thame, but stopped being a BMW dealer last year, but still do Triumph.

North Oxford Garage is the replacement.

Used to be my 'local' dealer when I lived in Gloucestershire........by first new BMW came from them, Smoke Green R100RT, BUD 33 Y.....

Cheers

Ride my 12 through Uxbridge from Tring to Heathrow whenever I take the bike to work. Know Uxbridge and Hayes very well as I grew up and went to school there. If you or anyone else ever fancy's going for a spin let me know. There are some great roads around here, about twenty minutes from you.
