Does anyone know what the frame mounted 2 pin connecting block under the right hand edge of the seat on my Adventure is for? I havent yet tested it with a multimeter but the 2 wires are green/white and yellow/white - I am looking for an easily assessible switched 12v supply for use with a Starcom/Autocom rather than breaking into the supply to the rear light.

Thanks
Ray

Sorry mate I aint got a clue what that connector is for but I used the back light wire. Just turned a sharp blade round the wire twice, about 2cm apart. peeled away the section of insulation. Twisted round the Autocom wire and dropped some solder on after. Insulated back up and away........ ;)

IIRC do this on an EVO ABS braked bike you'll "confuse" the ABS.

It's for connecting to a carbon canister in emissions tightened countries. I don't think it would have enough oomph to run your intercom though as I believe it's a sensor wire.

Hi Ray,

Have you considered powering your Autocom from the horn fuse (No. 4 in the fusebox IIRC). When the bikes ignition is switched off the power to the Autocom is cut. That's the way I have mine done, with no problems at all.

Bugger. You beat me to it.

I was installing my Autocom over the weekend & came across the same connector & was going to ask the same question.

As it was I connected to the tail light as BB suggest's.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, its a pity I can't use that connecting block though!

Aidan your idea of using the horn fuse is pretty neat, did you just "plug in" your Autocom wire with the fuse or is it possible to access the wires going to the fuse - ie. does the block containing the 10 fuses itself un-plug?
