Another one ticked off, 20 years ago I collected my 1150 from Sawbridgeworth. As It's her 'birthday' I treated her to a few presents:D a new battery to get her going, brake pads to halt her gradual decline and a positive terminal (well, what older lady doesn't occasionally fantasise about a jump with a younger model) Hopefully she'll be good for the next 20, unlike me who probably won't last that long:rob Cheers:beerjug:John B and a couple of pics....

Looking great for 20... :rob

Mine was registered 1/4/2000 so will be 21 next month, but I only got it on 14/9/2002 so not from new and only 18yrs...

miles

many miles on it, mines a 1997 1100 gs, 93.000 mile, had lots of other modern bikes but never liked any like i do my 1100. like a pair of old boots.:thumb

Mine's 20 this year and looks very much like yours from a distance, but it's rather tattier despite me just finishing a bit of a clean up and subframe repaint.

Maybe for her 21st, I'll dismantle the engine and get it blasted and re-coated...
...maybe :)

Or maybe I'll just put a few extra miles on it to make up for bugger all riding last year. Just about to turn 70K.

Brilliant!
I picked up my first 1150gs 21 years ago and and never been without one since.....until last Monday when I said an emotional final farewell.

21 on April Fools Day!

The old girl will be 21 on 1 April. just turned 27,000 miles. Still looks good if you squint and take a step back:D

There is an element of Triggers broom to her, but all the major stuff is original. Fingers crossed to put a few miles on her this summer in la Belle France, but think it will be a while.

I am the very proud new owner of Timolgra’s 1150gs, looking forward to many happy miles, the bike is fantastic. In have had a few of the 1200GSA in the past but super excited about this one.
Thanks Tim

I had a slight lump in my throat when she was loaded into the van but hope you enjoy many adventures together :)

My old lady was first registered here 09/09/1999 so a very early 1150, my boss had it for a couple of years, I have had it since about 2006, she sits on about 100,000 miles no commuting and recently no bloody trips.

Mine has an 1100 FD to help in the sand at altitude, Tim, I am a Welshpool boy by birth you still in that area?
