Hi all just got a 05 gs and have a question regarding the startup lights.

It does the normal startup but when I start the bike the battery and red triangle appear for a second then disappears, seems to start fine no issues turning over (so far). Is this normal or is this a sign of the battery on its way out?

On a side note bike seems to run well :)

Once running just blip the throttle its just getting up to speed and overcoming resistance etc and will settle to charge pretty quick

Thanks all,

I'll see how she goes. I have noticed a bit of a clunk when pulling in and releasing the clutch but the gearbox seems ok and the bike is smooth running for a twin. I'll have to have a check of the play in the FD I think.

Does anyone know a good independent bmw dealer around the Swindon/Newbury area? Needs an annual service and FD oil change I believe.

Fit a voltmeter under £10 for an LED type. Easy to fit & will show you how well the battery holds up under different conditions.
