September 2005 BMW 1200 GS Bargain.

Excellent condition GS , despite her years and 33k miles. Been cherished that's obvious. Very very clean. Good paintwork and plastics. look at the exhausts. Shod with Pilot Road 6 tyres with lots of tread left. Engine and gearbox very smooth and the exhaust note - see video - is very grunty for a GS with that Remus can. I intended to ride this for a couple of years so went to town on the preparation and renewal phase last winter. But a few weeks back a bargain low mileage LC dripping with tech crossed my path and I succumbed . Hence I now need to move this brilliant GS on ( no space; 5 bikes and 2 cars :). I have done over 3k on it, all extended tours and its never missed a beat. Mates all very impressed. Its now ready for a lucky new owner. Servo by pass already done properly and no dash lights. Brakes are excellent and it sailed through January mot.

I went through this bike for a few full weeks in January and serviced / upgraded/ replaced whatever was needed. Wheels , bearings balance checked. Tele lever , forks , swing arm all gone over throughly. Cardon shaft completely removed , checked and found to be ok. Swing arm was dry ( no pressure washing - ruins these ) Gaskets renewed and greased. Swing arm bushes and rear suspension checked and spot on. New battery fitted.

Bought at the end of 2024 . Before the spring the following work done:

  • Drive shaft removed , checked and greased. Was in great condition.
  • Gear Position sensor replaced
  • Fuel controller removed , cleaned , checked ( I carry a new one in my tool box - will go with bike)
  • Fuel strip still works perfectly.
  • Gearbox, engine oil, filters, air filter and final drive oils changed.
  • Brake and clutch fluid flushed and changed
  • Plugs changed - they were so clean by the way
  • Alternator belt changed
  • Brake calipers removed , serviced. Fluid changed . New rear pads needed and fitted.
  • Clutch fluid changed ( clutch was renewed at 20k by BMW )
Features:
  • Sargeant seats fitted - so comfortable - don't fit an LC :(
  • Givi racks fitted by me ( original BMW racks will go with the bike ) I will remove the Givi top box plate - bolted to the BMW one - (its battle scarred)
  • AOCCI Pro 6 fitted - adapted to clip onto a Garmin XT mount. Front and rear cameras. Apple Car Play or Android through your phone. Great piece of tech.
  • MRA screen
  • SW Motech upper and lower crash bars
  • Touratech headlight protector, hand guard extenders
  • Grip puppies
  • Very bright LED auxiliary lights with handlebar switch
  • Remus Revolution can - great sound
  • Extended pegs fitted
  • Pilot Road 6s fitted
  • New battery ( Jan this year)
  • Gear Position sensor changed
  • Spare Fuel Controller
  • Mud Slinger fitted
  • Optimate take off fitted
  • 2 USB outlets fitted at handlebar
  • Givi system tank bag lock fitted
  • Friction throttle assist fitted

There's loads more I could say / list and if anyone is interested please drop me a DM. This will sell quickly; great condition and mechanically spot on. Sweet engine, gear box and final drive.

I want £3450 firm . I will have the MOT refreshed for the next owner. Will be advertised on E Bay classified in a few days.

Thanks for checking this one out.

Right nice that! Remus always sounded the best as well ...👍

Cheers - imho this generation sounded the best of all :)

Very nice, I had exactly the same colour bike, could even be my old bike. No extras on mine when I sold it many years ago though.

thanks, it clearly had been shown lots of love :)
Had folk asking after the BMW pannier racks - here they are in v good condition. It has Givi ones on the bike - presently for Monokey boxes. The racks will take Dolomiti / Trecker but you will need to fit the cam conversions kit first.
