Took mine out for a blast the other day, I never really look at the fuel guage as it misses out the middle bit....... e.g. If I fill it up it reads full, the fuel gauge never moves from full then after a good run (about 120 miles) then suddenly drops down to 2 or 3 bars .... I've learnt to live with this and just go by the mileage on the trip to judge when a fill up is needed.

Anyway, this time I knew I had some fuel left in it and was only about 20 miles from home so I risked it........then I noticed the fuel guage saying 63 miles..... obviously a fuel range when it hits reserve.

Never knew I had this, is there anyway of getting this fuel range reading all the time???? (and I dont mean to show the 63 miles all the time)

Sounds like you don't have the computer option which results in you only seeing the range countdown once it is close to the triangle for low fuel coming on - if that is correct then no way to turn it on before that as I suspect adding the computer later costs a lot.

Mine usually indicates that 44-48 miles are left when the fuel light comes on, it will also run for another 16 miles after the range countdown has run out the last time I tested it!

Is it not just a matter of replacing the whole instrument panel with on ewith the computer option?

If so a trawl around the breaker - or even eBay!!! might make the 'upgrade' possible?

you canna change the laws of physics

its not possible,i ordered my bike with the computer but it turned out not to have it. it only had the info button which misled the salesman-they tried to retrofit it but had no joy,i think there are sensors in the sump for the oil level function & a full engine strip would not be economic.
i ended up getting a full panniere/top box combo as compensation so i spose i came out of it ok ;)

Mine clicks onto reserve with approx 45 miles to go. It was showing 9 miles left last time I filled up, with 17.4 litres, so I think it's fairly accurate.

economical

my last tank lasted 220 miles showing 25 miles left, took 18 litres to refuel-im happy with that.

Mine goes into countdown at 44ish, with about 10 left after zero. Refills at 210/220 mark last month in France taking 19 - 20 litres a go.
