2008 GS the bling has beglun!

Next!!!!!

Collected these this morning from a member of this parish who shall remain nameless unless he wants to stick his hand up :augie

Lot of effort to produce a satiny smooth black finish which I'm sorely tempted to hang on the wall rather than fit to the bike.

First time ive seen your post Roger, Looks well me old son. And yes it was me with the spray gun on the wheels. Dont mind your mention at all :thumb:thumb

Nice bike!

So many add ons were would you start on a standard bike:aidan?

Hugger; seat ?

....Nice job Thunder.......all you need to do is blacken those SS metal panels at the front of the tank and the bike will be done......:thumb

Looks great, mate. :thumb2 I too thought that the boomerangs would look better done black, but not now. I think the Remus goes well with them and gives enough 'lift' to the overall effect.

Well the funny thing is when I saw the press release pictures of the 2008 I hated the boomerangs but they have grown on me (maybe it's my stainless steel fetish :augie:D) to the point I relly won't be continuing with my initial plan of having them powder coated black.

I'm personally happy with the look now of the bike, the Remus pleases me and it's not often I say that. :D

Bit of a nose job

Been debating about adding a beak extender to the bike but decided to fit one last Thursday when I picked up an official 2008 BMW GSA extender part no 46617705386.

I'd had a TT extender on the previous bike but found it would not transfer over to the 08 model as the mounting points were different. The BMW extender costs around £30 from dealers. :aidan

"....Cat seems to have finally lost interest, then?..." It has probably just realised that if hangs around any longer a place may be found for it on the front mudguard!

Finished a little bit of fine tuning today in preparation for the Gathering of the Clans :oonyack

Black rimmed wires, Caja Sahel panniers complete with Two wheel Humvee graphics work so well together, of course that's just my personal opinion.:aidan

Wouldnt it be better to have matching panniers & top box? :aidan

What about MMs? You know the connoisseur's choice?

Well may you hide I've seen the price of MM's and the connoisseur can keep them

GSA top box appeals as it cn easily move forward into the passenger space if required and I blew the budget on the wheels :blast

Of course a matching box could be on the agenda, depends on how things develop :augie

Latest addition on the luggage front one of the Civil One's bespoke top-boxes hand crafted to my requirements :augie

It's the same size as the GSA box with chamfered edges on 3 sides of the base and a bracket that fits on the stock GSA rack, which means it can be fitted in the pillion space if required. The sides and lid don't use chamfers to maximise storage and a full face Tour X style helmet fits easily with room to spare for other gear which was not the case with the GSA box.

As I wanted a hinged lid a set of stainless steel hinges have been fitted which make access easy, as I use a top-box all the time this was a must have.

Well plased with it and looking forward to trying it out properly on the Tipperary weekend. :aidan
