Long story short...brake vibration in the front, missing two of those washers on the right disc...looking for replacements.

This is my query to BREMBO. The sales dude did everything but answer my question and yes BREMBO does make them - they are on their webpage and I provided part numbers. Rather comical...

Anyone fit BREMO discs on the front?

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your interest in the Brembo products. Unfortunately Brembo does not offer any aftermarket upgrades for your bike and we do not have availability to the BMW OE Brembo, replacement parts can only be purchased through BMW directly.

Looking for a replacement for my front rotors on my 2008 BMW R1200GS Adventure. Is your part number 68.B407.D6 the same as the factory or a better design? Not happy with the OEM parts as the washers break, fall out, and cause brake vibration. Is the stock BMW hardware compaitble with your discs? Finally, what does "for disc code 68.B407.D6 please use kit code 105.5776.12" refer to. I was unable to determine what the kit code is refering to. Thanks very much. Chris

Back in the 1990's I was told my 5 years old VW Passat would need to have an original VW exhaust system because the pattern parts makers had to wait 6 years before they could sell their versions of the parts. I dont know if this was fully correct, but this might be why Brembo wont sell parts for an 08 GSA.

I've just checked out Ferodo who make discs for the GSA up to 2006. Though they show the same parts numbers for GS and GSA so it needs investigating. That said, they have a limited range of parts covering the BMW range.

Anyway, its worth a phone call.

Problem is quite straightforward really. The 2008 has discs with the mounting bobbins washers etc FIXED to the disc. You are stuck with buying discs from BMW if you want discs with fixed bobbins.:blast

The old discs do fit. I have them on my 08 GSA. Just buy plain old discs, a bobbin and washer kit and away you go....

The change to the newer mounting system moves the discs 2mm further outward and the brake callipers are machined with 2mm less mounting boss to match.
Putting the old style discs and mounts on mean your discs will be 2mm further inboard and not run central in the calliper.
Still works though.
I ran the same setup but I also had 2mm spacers made up to move the calliper inwards.:thumb2
