2008 GSA- Servo/ESC ?

Quick one- I had an 05 GS which had servo brakes, it used to make the high electronic whining noise when the brakes were pushed;

I now have an 08 GSA and it doesnt have servos, but does have ESC- does ESC replace the need for servo assisted brakes?

They got rid of the servo before the ESC came in.

So my 07 GSA doesn't have servo, and ESC wasn't an option.

Servo assisted brakes were never really needed - they gave fist fulls of stopping power for a small pull on the levers but gave people issues if the assistence failed and they braked without realizing that more of a pull was needed. As such BMW finally saw the light and stopped using the idea.

Note I rode my R1100S for a day with them disabled once and could easily stop without them - just took a slight adjustment to how far I moved the lever - only thing that did worry me that day was the possibility that ABS was also disabled.
