Just bought a used GSA and I want to remove the fuel tank to run some wiring for GPS etc - can some kind person point me to where I can find information on how to do this please?

Never bothered on mine. Took the GPS power from the headstock socket, and used the accessory socket near the seat join for the autocom. Routed autocom cables around the side of the engine without any problems.
Well stroller comes on the site - has look, and not a word of thanks for the above post (that was not without effort).

You could've jumped the gun a bit. He might be in his garage pinned to the floor by a GSA tank full of juice. W***er.

No need to touch the tank, to wire directly to the battery just poke the wires along the tank and fish them out at the front, takes all of two minutes.

bit of 1.5mm twin and earth poked down the left hand side, then tied the wires to that and draw through

Same here...just "fished" the wires through....No Problems!

+1 on the just fishing the wires. Leave the tank on until you have to pull it off for so something more interesting like fitting a new wiring harness or dropping in a new ABS pump. Keeping is simple is better.

Or you could buy the correct lead and stick it into the pre-wired plug behind the headlamp (Garmin only I believe?)

Thats what it's for.
If you ever want to make a neat job of your audio wiring it only takes about 10 minutes to remove the tank. Nothing too difficult.
