Anyone got a definitive answer as to the EURO rating of the 2008 on MU GSA?
I moved to France and registered my bike here, it was given a EURO2 rating butvthe CoC emissions data outs it well within the EURO3 category. It's relevant to me because being stamped as EURO2 it gets a Crit'Air rating so access to some cities is going to be restricted.

testing a theory the DVLA site doesn't list Euro emission info on these below, nor mine and even claim mines was made in 2008 when it wasn't !

FE54 KVK aka a 2004 bike but DVLA do not have the emission info and ULEZ checker says pay up

FE56 TTZ seller says 2006 yet ULEZ says 2004 and it passes

VE07 CGF 2007 ULEZ says 2004 and it passes

mines 2007 and it passes ULEZ to do this it must be Euro 3

ULEZ standards are: Euro 3 for motorcycles, mopeds, motorised tricycles and quadricycles..., your vehicle must meet the required Euro standard for your vehicle and emission type. For newer... vehicles, the Euro emissions standards may be listed in section D.2 of your vehicle log book (V5C). The

Cars Minimum emissions standards Petrol: Euro 4 (NOx) Diesel: Euro 6 (NOx and PM) The... ULEZ is enforced based on the declared emissions of the vehicle rather than the age

Thanks @botus I am aware of the emission requirements for entering into the zones in France but I wanted to know what BMW certified these bikes as.
Being made and registered after 2006 implies that they meet EURO3 but the Certificate of Conformity makes no express statement to that fact. I believe that mine has incorrectly been registered as EURO2, prohibiting entry into some zones. My guess is that when it was being processed someone either misread the CO, HC and NOx data or chose the wrong item in a drop down list. Here, 0.0134 can be mistaken as 134 the "." being a thiusabd separator and a "," being a decimal point (decimal comma?). French government IT systems are rushed out with all bugs active, hoping either no-one will notice, care or complain. The vehicke registration system was the worst

Surely your local BMW dealer (in France) will know

Euro 3 emissions standards for motorcycles came into force on January 1, 2006, in the UK we gave manu a years grace to off load the old junk. So in the UK all motorcycles registered after July 1, 2007 must be Euro 3

As yours is the next model on - from 2008 and its European law not a UK std - yours MUST pass and your classification is in error and they can't legally fight you

Whereas in the UK, a lot of early pre 2006 R1200GS bikes don't say Euro3 - but many claim they are all the same and get DVLA to re state the emissions class... I'm not convinced there weren't mods to reach euro 3 but they mostly seem to get away with it....

early 2004 ECU doesn't say OK on later bikes 13617653147
6 ECU part numbers on by 2007 they were using 13617708992
today all bikes can run 13618521661, 11 parts numbers down the line - however the ONLY one not listed as "interchangeable retrospectively" is that first iteration. so it may have been less sophisticated and or didn't not land Euro 3

ummm, likely was a difference the Downpipes and CAT were a different part number before the Euro 3 regs came in to force

18117684097 early bikes

18117693904 Exhaust manifold From: 08/01/2005

Probably not much help. My 2009 GSA (same as 2008 iirc) has a Crit D'air 2. There is nothing on my reg doc telling anyone what regulations it meets. I just put Euro 3 on the form and they accepted it. Probably going by date I would have thought.
