2008 R1200GS tank bag

Hi All,

Having moved from an '04-07 model R1200GS to an '08 model, I discovered that my old Touratech tank bag doesn't sit comfortably on the new shaped tank.

Did a search and there were vague refs to needing a different tank bag with a new shape underneath.

Bought a Wunderlich tank bag recently specifying 2008 model, but this appears to be the same shape as the Touratech and again not a good fit. Apparently Wunderlich have no other shape bag to fit the 2008 model.

Wonder if anyone can confirm that I am not alone in believing that the new 2008 tank shape requires a new tank bag.

Yep, the tank for the post 08 is a new shape and requires a new tank bag. As you might expect BMW can sell you one...

The new bags fit the older bikes fine, but not the other way round.

I've a 08 model and my TT bag seems to fit OK. Asked them for some new velcro as I left original stuff on my old bike- no problems and free of charge. Depends which bag I suppose, my model is 055-1124, page 300 in the 2008 book. Hope you get sorted . JKM
